This is mainly of interest to people in Cotgrave/Wiverton/Radcliffe/Bingham areas, but all are welcome to support!
I'm sure you will have heard that our Labour friends at NCC seem hell bent on shutting down the Langar Household Waste and Recycling Centre (the tip) as part of their "think the unthinkable" cuts.
This is an unbelievably stupid and short sighted idea, and smacks of sheer vindictiveness.
The tip is located in an appropriate place, thousands of residents use it and it even attracts business to the industrial park, because many people go and don't realise there are small businesses next door.
But it will do nothing for our recycling aims, will put big pressure on RBC, who will have to clear up the flytipping that might well occur. People will also start putting unsuitable waste in their grey and green bins, again causing a headache for RBC.
I've got a bit of a campaign on the go about it - petitions mainly - including an online petition. I only set this up on Friday, and already, over 500 people have "signed" it.
I would like to think that it will help, and there is a possibility that it will - Labour do not like being haranged and lobbied!
So if you would like see the petition and sign it, especially if you are within suitable distance of Langar, here is the link - http://tinyurl.com/ma4bkt4
